Pricing Model

Resolves Open Item #3 — this changes the input fields inside the Quotation Builder itself.

Per unit

Price is quantity × unit price. Best if most jobs are discrete items — business cards, brochures, flyers.

Per sq ft

Price scales with area. Best if most jobs are large-format — banners, vinyl signage, wraps.

Custom per job type

Each product or service picks its own model in the Quotation Builder — unit pricing for business cards, sq ft for banners, on the same quote.

How long a quotation holds its price before it needs to be re-issued.

Default validity period

Applied automatically to every new quotation — sales reps can still override it per quote.

When a quote expires

Mark Expired — blocks conversion to order

A sales rep must issue a fresh quotation before the customer can convert it to an order.

Flag Expired — still allow conversion

Shows a warning badge, but a sales rep can override and convert it anyway at the original price.

The exact moment a quotation becomes a real order — and a Lead becomes a Client, if it's their first one.

PO receivedRecommended

Order — and Client record, if new — is created only once a purchase order is actually received from the customer.

This is how the Lead module already converts Leads to Clients

Quotation acceptedRisk

Converts as soon as a sales rep marks the quote "Accepted" — a verbal or email confirmation, no PO required.

Creates phantom Client and Order records for deals that later fall through before a real PO arrives.

Manual conversion only

A sales rep clicks "Convert to Order" by hand — nothing happens automatically either way.
